Summer Party!

Hi friends!

I am having a party at my house by the lake on July 15, and you are invited. All ages are welcome. Please, no dogs. We will have games of agility, wit, and humor; dancing; and whatever other fantastical ideas I come up with. There will be prizes for all kinds of things, including best outfit, fireside story that makes people laugh the most, scavenger hunt completion, and more. . . .

Please park at the boat ramp or along the road. You can come up my path through the woods by the red mailbox. I will provide some food and drinks. You are welcome to bring snacks or drinks to share if you like. Anyone so moved is welcome to sleep here: I have a number of spare beds and lots of pillows and blankets, and there is plenty of floor space inside and out.

5:00-6:00 Talk-free hour: explore the woods or inhabit the house in happy silence, listen to whatever the Earth may have to tell you out here; make music or drum, draw or paint

6:00-9:00 Games, Fun, and Talk: Individual or team scavenger hunts in the woods; capture the flag if enough people want to; maybe karaoke; dancing on the porch; rough-terrain badminton;

9:00 Stories and Singing around the Fire. (Bring simple, easy-to-learn songs to share!).

10:00 Late night events: Participatory movie-watching (think Mystery Science Theater); Lake swim; lingering around the fire, more dancing

These events will just be going on . . . you can of course do whatever you like. For those of us who sometimes get socially anxious or overwhelmed, the upstairs and porch roof will be designated quiet space.

To bring: flashlight if you stay past dark, food/drink (optional), close-toed shoes if you are going to play in the woods, sandals/water shoes if you plan to swim, music playlists for dancing (request music with a good vibe; I do have internet)

I hope to see you! I think you all know how to get here; directions are below just in case.

986-8686 (cell). Landline phone: 237-4084. Feel free to give my landline number as a contact number if you need one, since most cell phones don’t work out here.

Take Big Hill Road/Prospect St./Hwy. 21 east out of Berea. Follow it until it ends at Hwy. 421. Turn right at the Big Hill Food Mart/Gas Station. In about 100 yards, take the first left (follow sign for Hwy. 21). Go 2-3 miles. After you pass a horse farm on the right (Owsley Fork Petting Zoo), the road will

fork. Take the right-hand fork, Radford Hollow Rd. You will pass the New Earth Healing Center sign and red mailbox. Go on to park at the boat ramp on the left, then walk up the trail by the sign. If walking is difficult for you, turn right into the driveway just past the

sign and follow the drive to the right, and straight on into the woods. Look for the house with the orange stucco finish.
